MatVisual is a software which converts data into the three-dimensional images. It reveals information that is important to scientists. It aids understanding of the meaning of mathematic equations, demonstrates the anisotropic properties of a physical parameter and illustrates the configuration of the numerical results. It has been used to analysis the numerical results obtained by molecular dynamics, lattice-based and off-lattice hydrodynamic method, phase-field model for phase transition, information computing for microstructure evolution, and distribution of electric and magnetic fields in multiple phases materials.
The software was originally developed by Professor Rongshan Qin to support the visual analysis of the numerical results obtained in his research group. Many postgraduates and postdoctoral researchers have used the software in their research and publications. The software has also been utilized in many other research groups in the world.
